"Somewhere In Time" is the musical score composed by the famous composer John Barry for the movie of the same title. Christopher Reeve plays Richard Collier, a playwright who becomes smitten by a photograph of a young woman at a resort hotel. . Through self-hypnosis, he travels back in time to the year 1912 to find love with actress Elise McKenna, portrayed by Jane Seymour.
The portraits I used for this video were the works of French painter Élisabeth Vigée-Lebrun (Born 1755 Paris - Died 1842 at the age of 86). She was one of the most successful women artists (unusually so for her time), particularly noted for her portraits of women. Her great opportunity came in 1779 when she was summoned to Versailles to paint a portrait of Queen Marie-Antoinette. The two women became friends, and in subsequent years Vigée-Lebrun painted more than 20 portraits of Marie-Antoinette in a great variety of poses and costumes. The last portrait used in this video is a self-portrait she painted when she was 27.
